Twelve students from Rochdale Sixth Form College have received offers to study at the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge – the highest number ever. This outstanding achievement highlights the hard work, dedication, and determination of these students, who have excelled not only academically but also in the rigorous application and interview process required for these prestigious institutions.

This year’s offers span a range of courses. Nikola Warchon, Sarah Smith, Ibrahim Robinson, Eren Akcora, and Alexander Tobalase have secured places at the University of Cambridge to study vterinary medicine, engineering, natural sciences, mathematics, and theology, respectively.

At the University of Oxford, James Pitts and Bradley Trickett have both received offers to study engineering. Emi Booth and Ben Hildreth have been accepted to study history, and Jemima Dorrington has secured a place for medicine. Dylan Jones has been accepted to study philosophy, politics, and economics, and Darcey Harris has received an offer to study English literature and history.

Gaining a place at Oxford or Cambridge means competing against top students from across the UK and around the world. Success is not only a reflection of intelligence and academic ability but also a demonstration of curiosity, resilience, and a commitment to exploring their subjects beyond the standard curriculum.
