Mayfield U18s win the Lancashire Cup

Mayfield U18s 27 - 12 Wigan St Judes
Matt Calland and Sam Butterworth took their all-conquering Mayfield U18s side to the Lancashire Cup Final at Widnes Select Stadium on Sunday and came home with the trophy.
St Judes started very strongly and looked like the quality side they were expected to be but Mayfield stuck to the task and refused to panic.
The Mayfield forwards were outstanding, marshalled by man-of-the-match Dec Sheridan and scrum half Zac Hartley.
Mayfield tries came from Jack Rush (2), Dec Sheridan (2), and James McDaid with Hartley adding three conversions plus a drop goal.
A club spoekspan said: "This was a fantastic achievement for the team many of who are still eligible for U18s rugby next season."
