Hill hoping for FA Cup magic

Date published: 24 January 2014

Rochdale Manager Keith Hill is looking forward to the FA Cup fourth round tie against Sheffield Wednesday at Spotland.

He said: "We’ve won three FA Cup games to get to this point where we’re now playing against a very, very good Sheffield Wednesday team.

“They’re in great form, they’re unbeaten in seven and the Manager has come in and done exceptionally well. He [Stuart Gray] knows the players, he’s changed one or two things around slightly and the players have responded well.

“We have to be at our very best to be able to compete with them and I’m hoping that the players respond to the occasion. We’re planning and we’re strategising. We’re hoping that the players will respond in the same manner that they did against Leeds and hopefully we can have that little bit of FA Cup magic on our side.”

Around 8,000 supporters are expected to attend the tie, and Hill is looking forward to another fantastic atmosphere at Spotland.

“The players won’t hide in fear - it will generate an energy on the pitch. It’s magnificent and the players are really looking forward to it, added Hill.”
