There were smiles all around at the football tournament organised for the local community by Wardleworth Community Centre Association (WCCA) on Sunday 18 August at Heybrook School.
Ten teams entered the tournament, with ‘Return of Gaza FC’, from Wardleworth, winning 3-2 in a very entertaining final to claim the Unity Cup.
Doulat Miah, Centre Manager, said: ‘It was really nice to see so many young faces from the local area participating and volunteering in the sports event.
"We plan to organise more sports events over holiday periods and weekends to keep young people active and positively engaged."
As well as the football tournament there was a barbecue, supervised by volunteers, enjoyed by over a 100 young people from Wardleworth and Hamer.
