Rochdale urged to support Hornets

Date published: 17 June 2013

Rochdale Hornets are closing in on first place following an emphatic win at Gateshead.

Captain Wayne English scored a brace of tries in that game and the Pride of Kirkholt is calling on the people of Rochdale to get behind your team.

Wayne English said "The race is on. We have a difficult game in London this weekend followed by a crunch game in Wrexham against North Wales Crusaders. We then have five home games on the bounce and we need the public of Rochdale to cheer us to victory.

"I am Rochdale born and bred and I love nothing more than pulling on a Hornets shirt and representing our town with pride. We travel up and down the country representing this town and it would be great if the people of Rochdale can get behind us on our promotion run in."

'Whirlwind' Wayne English shows how extraordinary the Rochdale Hornets players are, working a full time job as well as training three times a week with the team and putting in three gym sessions per week, as well as travelling from Gateshead to South Wales and beyond representing Rochdale.

Despite his age, Wayne English continues to put in extraordinary displays on the pitch, which has led to comparisons being made to Ryan Giggs on Giggsy's official website.

You can see Wayne English alongside fellow extraordinary players such as The Ginger General Paul Crook, Angry Gaz Langley and Michael Ratu III when they return to Spotland on 28 July.

Rochdale Hornets offer an 'Extraordinary Ticket 'deal to help you get behind your team.

The Extraordinary Ticket offer gives you access to the remaining five home games at Spotland, starting with the Hornets Vs Oxford game on 28 July and finishing with the Hornets v Gloucester All Golds fixture on 1 September. Sandwiched in between there are the home games with South Wales Scorpions, Gateshead Thunder and the Thursday night TV game with local rivals Oldham Roughyeds.

As an added bonus, the half season ticket also includes a six month standard membership, which includes full voting rights, e-newsletter, further discounts on all club events and a signed 2013 squad photo.

Also included is a pair of tickets to the Rochdale Hornets v Fiji Rugby League World Cup warm up fixture in October - a saving of over 50%.

To take advantage of this 'extraordinary offer'  call the club on 01706 648004/ info@hornetsrugbyleague.com to buy your ticket.
