Middleton are still on course to retain their J.W. Lees Twenty20 crown after defeating Norden, to make it three wins out of three in the group stage and cruise into the Quarter Final stage.
On a packed Towncroft ground, Middleton batted first and made 174 for 7. Arron Lilley top scoring with 66, but he was supported by Reece Jones (25 off 26 deliveries), Grant Jones (23 off 15 deliveries) and Paul Bennett (19 off 14 deliveries). Middleton ended their innings on 174 for 7.
In reply, Norden made a valiant effort to chase the runs down, but fell 25 runs short, with only Michael Price (42 off 31 deliveries) putting up and fighth, as his teamates struggled to come to terms with some excellent Middleton bowling and fielding. Veteran wicketkeeper, Tommy Astley, ended with two stumpings and two catches.
The Quarter Final will take place on Saturday 22 June and Middleton will be facing Unsworth at home. It is a 2pm start, but this may change.
