Rochdale AFC striker Bobby Grant has been summoned to Barkingside Magistrates' Court, London over an allegation of racially aggravated harassment.
The summons follows an alleged incident during a game against Dagenham and Redbridge FC on 12 January.
Dagenham defender Gavin Hoyte made the allegation to referee Steve Rushton during the NPower League Two game which Dagenham won scoring in stoppage time to come from behind to beat Dale.
The game, at Dagenham's Victoria Road ground, was championed as 'Daggers Against Racism Family Fun Day'.
The hearing is scheduled to take place on 11 April.
