Rochdale Premier Cricket League – week 8 round up

All the teams are in action again this week. Good wins for Unique, Paradise Stars, and 8 Stars. Max 11 recorded their first win of the indoor season against Punjab. Rochdalians also won their game against no. 2 team in league “Amazing 8”.

First match of the day was between Amazing 8 and Rochdalians. Amazing 8 batted first and made 110 runs in their 8 overs. Good batting from Kamar 21 runs and Amir 18 runs. An excellent bowling from Faisal taking 2 wickets for 8 runs only. In response Rochdalians batted well and won the match by 2 wickets and 2 balls to spare. Good batting from captain Malik 32 runs (not out) and Hameed 25 runs.

Second match was won by Max 11 against Punjab by 48 runs and recorded their first win for the indoor season. Max 11 batted first and scored 126 runs in their 8 overs. Good batting from captain Sajjad 23 runs, Awais 17 runs and Zeeshan 14 runs runs. In response Punjab bowled out for 178 runs and lost the match. Good bowling from Athar taking 2 wickets for 6 runs, Illyas 2 wickets for 6 runs and Sajjad 1 wicket for 5 runs.

Next match was between Paradise Stars and Rochdale Lions. Paradise Stars batted first and made 141 runs. Captain Shahid (Jimmy) made 31 runs (not out), Chand 15 runs. But top runs of the innings were extras. Rochdale Lions gave away 67 runs in extras. Good response from Rochdale Lions but they were losing wickets at regular interval and with that end up losing the match by 39 runs.

Another win for Unique against Bury Panthers, Bury Panthers needed 28 runs in the last over and they could only make 18 runs and lost the match by 10 runs. With this win Unique kept the top spot in the league.

Next match was between RYCC and Speed Stars. RYCC batted first and made 129 runs in their 8 overs. Good batting from Tayyab 30 runs (not out), Guffran 14 runs and Siddique 13 runs (not out). Good response from Speed Stars and won the match by 7 wickets and 4 balls to spare. Excellent batting from Rauf 32 runs (not out) Yasir 28 runs and Shakil 24 runs.

Easy win for 8 Stars against Lahore Rangers. 8 Stars batted first and scored 90 runs. Good batting from Qaiser 37 runs (not out) and Waleed 10 runs. In response Lahore Rangers could only managed total of 62 runs and lost the match by 28 runs.

Last match of the day was between 8 Lions and Thornham CC. 8 Lions batted first and made 79 runs in their 8 overs. Good batting from Saleem 20 runs and Khawaja 18 runs. Good response from Thornham CC Lahore Rangers and won the match by 5 wickets and 1.3 overs to spare. Good batting from Amjad 20 runs (not out) and Chris 10 runs.
