Rochdale Premier Cricket League - week 6 round up

The title race is heating up now as Unique faced the first and heaviest defeat of the season. Now 3 teams - Unique, Amazing 8, and Paradise Stars - are at the top with 11 points and 8 Stars in second place with 10 points and RYCC in third place with 9 points.
RYCC won by 50 runs against Rochdalians in the first match of the day. RYCC batted first and scored 139 runs in their 8 overs. Excellent batting from Ashfaq 32 runs (not out), Guffran 31 runs and Tayyab 27 runs. In response Rochdalians made 89 runs in their allotted overs. Apart from Asif 30 runs (not out), Faisal 14 runs and Arfan 12 runs none of the other batsmen contributed much towards the total. Good bowling display from Guffran 2 wickets for 8 runs and Tayyab 1 wickt for 17 runs.
The second match was won by Bury Panthers by 4 wickets and 2.5 overs to spare against Punjab. Punjab batted first and scored 108 runs in their 8 overs. Good batting from Hassan 23 runs, Asif 13 runs, Kashif 12 runs. In response Bury Panthers Batsmen showed good discipline and won the match with an ease. Good batting from Ikraam 20 runs (not out), Hanif 21 runs and Sajjad 16 runs (not out).
The next match was between Paradise Stars and Thornham CC. Paradise Stars batted first and made 87 runs. Excellent batting from Akeel 33 runs but none of the other batsment got into double figures. Good bowling by Danny 2 wickets for 11 runs and Amjad 1 wicket for 1 run. Not a good response from Thornham CC and losing wickets as regular interval, only 2 batsmen Amjad 19 runs and Tom Smith 12 runs (not out) manage to score the runs. Paradise Stars won the match by 13 runs. With this win Paradise Stars are joint leader at the top with Unique and Amazing 8.
The following match was between Rochdale Lions and 8 Stars. 8 Stars won the match by 16 runs. 8 Stars batted first and scored 115 runs. Good batting from Waleed 34 runs (not out) and Traiq 16 runs. In response Rochdale Lions could only managed a total of 99 runs. Despite good batting from Zohaib Shah 24 runs and Shakeel 12 runs none of the other batsmen contributed much towards the total. Good bowling from Qaiser 2 wickets for 8 runs and Irfan 1 wicket for 9 runs. With this win 8 Stars moved to 2nd place in the league table.
The Next match was won by Amasing 8 against Unique. It was an excellent win. Unique was all bowled out for 91 runs. An excellent bowling from Imran taking 3 wickets for 15 runs and Naveed 1 wicket for 19 runs. In response Amazing 8 batsmen batted really well and won the match by 7 wickets and 2 overs to spare. Good batting display from Honey 35 runs (not out), Shakeel 23 runs and Kamran 16 runs (not out). With this win Amazing 8 becomes joint leader with Unique and Paradise Stras at the top with 11 points.
The next game was between Speed Stars and Lahore Rangers. Batting first Speed Stars were all bowled out for 94 runs in their 8 overs. Excellent bowling from Numan taking 3 wickets for 11 runs and Adil 1 wicket for 8 runs. In response Lahore Rangers batted very sensibly and won the match with 5 wickets and 1.3 overs to spare. Good batting from Adil 31 runs (not out), and Numan 24 runs. Another comfortable win for Lahore Rangers.
The last match of the day was between Max 11 and 8 Lions. 8 Lions batted first and made 109 runs in their 8 overs. Good batting from khawaja 16 runs (not out), Saleem 15 runs and Nadeem 15 runs. In response Max 11 could only managed to score 90 runs and lost the match by 20 runs. Anwar Khan made 17 runs and sakib made 10 runs.
Abdul Quyyom and M Siddique appreciated and thanked all the volunteers particularly Tayab, Wasim, Haji Shakeel and Ali Shah for helping with umpiring and scoring duties.
