Rugby League: An Alternative Future

Supporters Direct, is pleased to announce its first ever rugby league conference, to be held on Saturday October 9 2010 at the historic George Hotel Huddersfield.

The conference, entitled "Rugby League: An Alternative Future" aims to show all rugby league supporters from across the game how they can become more involved in their sport and help to safeguard their clubs for future generations.

Speakers on the day include former New Zealand internationl, Robbie Paul, League Weekly Owner, Danny Lockwood, MP for Colne Valley and memebr of the All Party Parliamentary Rugby League Group, Jason McCartney and Bramley Buffaloes Chairman, Martyn Cheney.

Bowling Competition reminder
Our traditional Bank Holiday Bowling Competition is on again on Bank Holiday Monday the 30 of August.

Its only £2.50p per player, bowlers and non-bowlers, never bowled and those who dont even know what a bowl is are more than welcome.

Bowlers and non-bowlers will be paired as a team. The fun starts at 12 noon at the Church Inn, next to Spotland Stadium.All money raised goes to Hornets as we build towards the 2011 season.

Gala Dinner Gathers Pace
Head Coach John Stankevitch will ensure as many of the squad attend what will be a night to remember.

With tickets priced at only £25 per person for a three course carvery dinner, entertainment plus the complete presentation event, it promises to be a bumper evening.

So make sure you dont miss out, book your place a.s.a.p to avoid disappointment.

Tickets can be booked through the office or any board member.

Remember Friday 29 of October at the Radcliffe Suite, Spotland Stadium.

Their selection was well deserved and several other Hornets players can consider themselves unlucky not to join them.

Hornets in the Play-offs
Hornets are pleased to announce the Play Off Semi Final fixture against South Wales Scorpions has been confirmed.

The match takes place on Sunday 5 September, 3pm kick off, and supporters are asked to pay on the gate.

Admission prices for this fixture are Adults £12, Concessions (over 65) £8 and Juniors (16 and under) £5.

Please note season tickets are not applicable for this fixture.

With a large portion of the squad already resigned for the 2011 season its a sure bet that we will have the best turn out of players and "wags" at the Gala Presentation Dinner.

Cobras crowned Riley Cup KingsThe final round of the Rochdale Rugby Leagues Riley Cup was played on Thursday night. It saw a new name added to the previous winners as relative new boys, the Rochdale Cobras were crowned Champions of this innovative competition.

Well done to all the teams who took part in the Thursday night series and good luck to all the teams in the coming season.
