Cruttenden has a break from the championship

Date published: 25 August 2010

Newhey Rally Co-driver, Joe Cruttenden has received a blow to his chances of retaining his BTRDA Rally First Championship title, or rather his drive, Matt Griffin has.

Mr Griffin has broken his wrist mountain biking and will not be able to compete in the next round of the championship.

'”We were not having the best of seasons and were wondering whether, as we are both students, we should pull out of the championship anyway. This has made our minds up for us and with only the final round, the Cambrian to go, we feel its best to save what little money we have and look towards a championship next year,” said Mr Cruttenden

Mr Cruttenden will however continue to co-drive for other drivers and will be doing a few rounds of the British Tarmac Rally championship with Cambridge based driver, Lewis Roper, in his newly acquired Nissan Micra kit car.

He is also planning to compete in Belgium on a couple of weeks and San Remo later in September, whilst trying to squeeze in a couple of rally's himself, as a driver, in his recently brought F1000 Nissan Micra rally car.
