Foxes snap up Kennedy

Date published: 10 June 2010

Tom Kennedy will sign a three-year contract with Championship side Leicester City when his contract with Rochdale expires on 1 July.

Rumours circulated last week that the left back had agreed a deal with Doncaster Rovers but the Foxes have beaten the South Yorkshire club to his signature.

Kennedy made 146 appearances for ‘Dale after signing from rivals Bury in the summer of 2007, scoring 9 goals.

After helping Rochdale to promotion to League 1, he was named in the PFA League Two Team of the Year, the second successive season he was included in the divisional eleven.

Kennedy's move follows the departures of Kenny Arthur to Grimsby Town, Chris Dagnall to Scunthorpe United, and Rory McArdle to Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen.
