Arthur signs for Grimsby

Date published: 08 June 2010

Rochdale AFC goalkeeper Kenny Arthur has joined Grimsby Town on a free transfer as Keith Hill's squad undergoes further 'shapeshifting' this summer.

He was transfer-listed by the ‘Dale boss at the end of last season after failing to hold down a regular starting spot following a back injury in October 2009.

The former Accrington Stanley stopper has signed a two-year contract with the relegated Mariners, who will play in the Blue Square Premier next season.

The Scot’s last appearance in a ‘Dale shirt came against Burton in a 2-1 defeat at Spotland on 1 May, one of 17 appearances for the club.

His departure follows those of Rory McArdle to Aberdeen and Chris Dagnall to Scunthorpe United.
