Jim Bentley has been sacked as Rochdale AFC’s manager after just seven months in charge. The club released a statement yesterday (Monday 27 March) saying that it has parted company with the first team manager.
Bentley was appointed in August last year and the team has won just six out of 32 league games under his leadership.
Dale sit bottom of League Two and are facing certain relegation; after losing to Crawley this weekend the team is 10 points adrift of safety with just eight games remaining.
Assistant manager Nick Chadwick will also depart the club.
Jim McNulty will take interim charge of the team until the end of the season, starting with Saturday’s game at AFC Wimbledon.
In a statement, the club said: “We would like to place on record our thanks to Jim and Nick, and wish them every success in the future.”
