A Rochdale MMA fighter will next month be taking on one of Conor McGregor’s training partners in his third pro fight.
Jamie Hay, 36, of Bamford, will be taking on Lee Hammond – one of Ireland’s finest grapplers and former IMMAF world champion – at the Bellator 275 event at the Dublin Arena on 25 February.
Both hold a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu brown belt and are currently undefeated with Hay 2-0 and Hammond 1-0.
Hay said: "I have had a successful amateur and professional career so far and looking forward to fighting one of Conor McGregor's training partners."
Hay, who owns his own gym in Radcliffe, last featured under the Full Contact Contender banner back in February 2020 where he stopped Liam Gregory with a heel hook victory. He has been fighting since 2010.
