Football: Rochdale Youth Team 1 - 1 Tranmere Rovers

Date published: 17 April 2019

Under 16s forward Adam Cullen scored a last gasp equaliser in Rochdale Youth Team’s 1-1 draw with Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.

The Academy player glanced in Joe Dunne’s cross in the 90th minute to cancel out Tranmere’s first-half opener.

They broke the deadlock inside the opening ten minutes, when a through ball into the area was finished first-time across goal.

Dale responded well with Lewis Bradley firing a low shot narrowly past the far post from a tight angle, before Florent Hoti curled a free-kick off the outside of the upright.

Either side of the break, James Neild had a header from a corner saved and Hoti saw an effort deflected wide.

Bradley had an effort held before Neild’s long-range effort needed to be tipped over by the Tranmere stopper.

It looked like Dale were heading for defeat when Florian Yonsian fired wide of the upright from the edge of the area, but substitute Cullen’s first goal for the Youth Team rescued a point.
