Cricket: Norden Cricket Club Senior Presentations

Greg Butterworth receives the Asif Mujtaba Shield and the Marion Hargreaves Trophy as the Norden Cricket Club players’ player of the year from Ian Austin
Greg Butterworth received two of the major trophies when Norden Cricket Club held a presentation night on Friday.
He won the Asif Mujtaba Shield which is awarded for having gained most nominations for leading players in matches, and the Geoff and Marion Hargreaves Trophy as the players’ player of the year.
Jayne Salford was named as the most consistent player on the ladies’ team which won the Lancashire Softball League in what was only their second full season.
The Coupe Cup for Clubperson of the Year went to Paul Hanby.

- 2nd X1 batting: Greg Tattersall
- 2nd X1 bowling: Paul Morrell
- 3rd X1 batting: Jamie Jackson
- 3rd X1 bowling: Sami Waheed
- Under 17s batting: Spencer Allen
- Under 17s bowling: Will Wystawnoha
- Ladies batting: Lucie Berwick
- Ladies bowling: Kate Davies
- Hanmer Cup (best performance v Rochdale): Dominic Humphreys
- JR Bonser Trophy (most representative honours by a junior player): Sami Waheed
- Bob Tattersall Trophy (best junior fielder in senior cricket): Joe Humphreys
- Harold Sibbert Trophy (best junior in senior cricket): Jamie Jackson
- Derek Parker Trophy (most improved player: Matt Farrand.
- Majorca Batting Cup (best individual performance of season): Greg Tattersall 71 not out v Rochdale 2nd at Redbrook.
- Majorca Bowling Cup: Teeno Saeed 7-22 v Church 2nd in Telegraph Cup at Stag Park.
- Asif Mujtaba Shield (most points as awarded by captains during season): Greg Butterworth
- BI Butterworth Trophy (most consistent lady player): Jayne Salford
- Geoff and Marion Hargreaves Trophy (players’ player of the year): Greg Butterworth
- Coupe Cup (clubperson of the year): Paul Hanby.
The trophies were presented by guest speaker and former Lancashire and England player Graeme Fowler, and his former Lancashire team-mate Ian Austin.
The event was overseen by NCC cricket chairman Dexter Fitton and MC Matt Allen, with entertainment from Tony Grant and his Freddie Mercury tribute act.
