Littleborough U12s
It was Waterfall Cup time again for Littleborough's Under 12s on Sunday (18 November) with the squad travelling to Burnley to take on both Wigan and Rossendale.
First up was a Wigan side who were strong, quick and well drilled. Littleborough matched them in all departments early on and had plenty of the ball, and despite trying to play the ball through hands, just couldn't get the wide men into the game.
The game ebbed and flowed with Wigan going over the line to score the first try following some scrappy play from both sides.
With both sides continuing to cancel each other out, it appeared the first half would end level. That was until Wigan managed to score at the end of the first half following a kick and chase move, and Littleborough went into the break 2-0 down.
The second half followed the same pattern as the first, with both sides playing some hard but fair rugby with Littleborough both defending well and attacking with flair.
Whatever they tried on the other hand could not break down a watertight Wigan as in the first half, Wigan managed to take advantage to score another scrappy try. A 3-0 victory for Wigan rang through at the final whistle.
Despite the score line, the game was close, and Wigan definitely knew they had been in a game.
Man of the Match award went to Joe Mills, with the moment of the match being given to Louie Harris and Ben Limer for some great driving work.
