Rugby Union: Cleckheaton and Keighley 3 - 13 Littleborough U11s

Date published: 30 October 2018

Littleborough's Under 11s found their rhythm beautifully in the chilly conditions against a combined Cleckheaton and Keighley side on Sunday (28 October).

The score line of 13-3 illustrated the quality within this side, and though they matched up against a big side, their determination, passion and resilience were even bigger.

Individually, both Cleckheaton and Keighley are good sides, but a combined Yorkshire barbarian side is even better.

Nevertheless, it was to be a day for the Red Rose as the Lancashire lads and lasses put paid to that.

Awesome organised defence, intercepts and strong snatching of the ball stopped the home side getting the ball over the try line while phenomenal ruthlessness in attack from Littleborough saw them tear the opposition to shreds.

Tries in successive games for Max Rawlinson, Callum Sharrocks and Taylor Ward, alongside a score for the rumbustious Timon Warburton.

Ellis Johnson (2) and Daniel Taylor (4) continued their impressive starts to the season while Harrison Dickinson would match his older sister's accomplishments with a hat-trick.

On any other day, Dickinson would have dominated the limelight both on the field and his household but like the selfless young man he is, he will share the plaudits.
