Rugby Union: Littleborough U12s 6 – 4 Burnley U12s
Date published: 16 October 2018
Littleborough Under 12s recently welcomed an under-strength Burnley team to a very wet Rakewood.
The home side showed their sportsmanship with a number of players taking turns to 'play for Burnley' to allow even numbers and to give everyone a good game.
Despite the wet conditions, there were some good ball handling and hard running, resulting in the home side going two tries up and dominating the early game.
The combined Burnley/Littleborough opposition slowly came back into the game, and with a combination of some sloppy play and lack of concentration, suddenly saw the score line read 3-2 to the visitors.
With the weather not easing, Littleborough upped the ante and continued to try and play passing rugby but often being pegged back by a Burnley side keen on kicking the ball to release pressure.
The teams traded tries before Littleborough eventually made the game safe in the closing stages, running out 6-4 winners.
Man of the Match was Zak Brady and Tyler Brock won the coach’s award.
A special thanks also goes out to AEC Ltd, for sponsoring the under 12s new kit this season.
