Cricket: Heywood cricket Club teams for the weekend

Date published: 13 September 2018

The curtain comes down on another local cricket season at the weekend – and it’s an important finale for Heywood’s senior side.

They entertain Clifton on Saturday needing a victory to have a chance of preserving their Greater Manchester Premier League status.

The second team, after being in the one of the two Division 4 East promotion places for much of the season, now need some help if they are to go up.

They go to bottom club Saddleworth, also on Saturday, and require a six-point victory then hope that second-placed Denton lose at home to Royton. Hollinwood have already clinched the title.

Sunday sees the final fixture of the season when the third team play Monton and Weaste at Crimble.
