Sailing: Nick Brook shines at Hollingworth Lake Sailing Club

Date published: 05 September 2018

The Lake was sparkling in the sunshine on Sunday as sailors set out for the first races of the autumn series.

Nick Brook, in a Solo, had the best results with a couple of wins and an unusual tie for first place in the first race with Will Smith in a Laser, after applying the handicap.

Of the five young Topper sailors who set out, three of them found the gusts a bit strong and retired.

The fresh westerly wind eased for the second and third races and Will Smith continued in good form with third and second places respectively.

The GP14 fleet are still in the mix of results as Colin Knott and Richard Long had good results for third place on the day. Les Burns and Kevin Parry finished in third place in the third race.

On Saturday, Adam Din and his brother Jacob raced at Redesmere in the Junior Travellers Series. Adam had the best results in his Laser, coming third overall.
