Cricket: Thomas steps up to next level for Lancashire

Date published: 29 May 2018

Heywood Cricket Club talent Olivia Thomas is making her presence felt in style at both club and county level.

Olivia, who turned 14 on 3 May, impressed Crimble regulars with the bat and ball in Heywood’s victory over Deane and Derby in the second round of the Greater Manchester League 2nd X1 Cup at Crimble last weekend.

She followed up with another fine all-round show for Lancashire Under-15s against Cheshire on Wednesday, scoring an unbeaten 54 then taking 1-10 in two overs of leg spin.

That has earned her a call to a higher age group level next Thursday 31 May when she will play for the Lancashire Under-17s at Denby Dale in two T20 games against Yorkshire and Derbyshire.
