Rugby League: Mayfield entertain Wigan St Pat's

Mayfield hope to carry on where they left off on Saturday as they entertain Wigan St Pat's at the Mayfield Sports Centre.
A strong finish to last week’s game against Normanton saw them pick up a win and the much needed two points.
The most pleasing aspect of last week’s game was the improvement shown in concentration and discipline, the skill has always been there but has at times been overshadowed by lack of concentration and silly needless penalties.
Also impacting on last week’s performance was the return of some of the big forwards allowing Mayfield to show a more physical presence on the field, something they will need if they are to get back in contention for a play-off spot come the end of the season, a feat which is not beyond their reach if they continue to play like this.
Saturday's game will be a different proposition, games against St Pat's always are and, although they too have had a less than impressive start to the season, they come into this game level on points with Mayfield and after a good win last week.
Whoever wins will get a real boost and it will go a long way towards seeing them start the climb away from the bottom of the table.
