Cricket: Norden dismissed for only 106 by Church

Date published: 30 April 2018

Convincing winners in their first match of the season, crushed in their second.

That was the lot of Norden Cricket Club who were dismissed for only 106 in their match at Church on Sunday and went down by five wickets.

Norden found it difficult on a tricky track and their innings never got going.

Josh Tolley and Harvey Fitton went early, but there was a bit of hope as Dominic Humphreys, Greg Butterworth, Jake Sandham and Steve Pimm featured in partnerships which managed to get Norden up to 85 for five.

The tail crumbled, and the end total looked well short of what would be needed to mount a recovery.

Church lost two wickets for 13, but stand-in professional Asher Zaidi was dropped and went on to make an unbeaten 29, while Levi Wolfenden, who had taken four wickets, rounded off a good day for him by scoring 42.
