Rugby Union: Littleborough Rugby Club Juniors and Minis

Date published: 24 April 2018

Littleborough Under 16 boys produced a senstational performance to beat Kirby Lonsdale 10 - 81.

They showed last week's semi-final defeat was a blip as they made the 164-mile round trip worth it.

An outstanding display from the U12s, who travelled to Manchester and beat a quality Heaton Moor side.

From kick off the boys showed real intensity and drive, not giving the opposition time to settle or get any rhythm. In attack good work by Littleborough's scrum half Harvey Johnson and number 10 Harry York gave the players outside them plenty of running space and Bailey Howarth and Adam Gibson made good use of this.

Hard work by the forwards always helped the backs to play their natural game.

Oliver Fell-Gordon crased through on a short ball burst to score.

A good couple of ankle tap tackles kept Littleborough looking like comfortable winners as the ever improving U12s put together a complete team performance.

The U13s also recorded an impressive 20 - 60 victory away at Kirkby Lonsdale RUFC.

Littleborough U10s did exactly what was asked of them and then some.

Trafford MV are a well drilled team, but Littleborough minis showed what they were made of.

The match at times was became heated, but hrough it all, Trafford could not stem the flow of Littleborough tries.

The U8 side, travelling with eight players, one of the youngest sides in the Littleborough Minis section played five matches, winning four and losing the final by one score at the Preston Grasshopper mini festival.

All the team were good going forward, with all of them scoring tries.
