Rochdale looking for first league win of the season against Bury

Date published: 25 August 2017

Rochdale take on Bury at the Crown Oil Arena on Saturday looking to record their first league win of the season.

Dale did beat Mansfield in the EFL Cup before being knocked out in the second round at Stoke on Wednesday, but league games to date have resulted in losses away against Portsmouth and Shrewsbury and a draw at home to Scunthorpe, leaving Dale languishing in the bottom four.

Bury have also had a medicore start to the season, with one win and two losses in the league and are sixth from bottom, two places above Dale. Having narrowly beaten Walsall on the opening day of the season, Bury were soundly beaten 4-1 by Wigan before going down at home to Bristol Rovers last weekend. They also exited the EFL Cup in the first round beaten at home by Sunderland.

Following last weekend's defeat against Bristol Rovers, Bury manager Lee Clark sent his apologies to supporters describing the team's performance as "just awful from start to finish".

Rochdale's recent record against Bury bodes well with Dale having come away with victory in the last three meetings of the clubs.

Rochdale AFC’s new-look 76-page matchday programme – The Voice of Spotland – will be available priced at just £3 and contains plenty of reading to keep fans entertained and informed before, during and after the match.
