Cricket: T20 quarter finals for Rochdale

Date published: 27 July 2017

Rochdale entertain Royton at Redbrook on Sunday in the quarter finals of the League’s T20 competition with a date on Finals Day at stake.

Rochdale have already qualified for the JW Lees Bitter Wood Final, against Crompton at Middleton on Sunday 6 August, and would love to leave their mark on this competition too.

Having beaten Royton earlier in the month in the Wood Cup Semi, Rochdale start the game as favourites, but Royton possess a threat in shape of big hitting captain James Maurice- Scott and professional Chirag Khurana and a big innings from either could influence the game.

With their title hopes hanging by a thread, Rochdale entertain league leaders Walsden on Saturday - wickets pitched 1.30pm.

Having suffered a surprising defeat at the hands of bottom club Saddleworth a fortnight ago, Rochdale cannot afford any more slip ups, but they may find Walsden, who have lost only two league games this season too tough a nut to crack.

Leading positions:

  • Walsden - P12; 51pts
  • Norden - P12; 45pts
  • Rochdale - P12; 37pts
  • Monton & Weaste - P12; 34pts

Fixtures:

Rochdale v Walsden, Saturday 29 July, 1.30pm at Rochdale Sports Club, Redbrook, Bridgefold Road, Rochdale, OL11 5BX.

T20 Quarter Finals Rochdale v Royton 3.00pm, Sunday 30 July, Rochdale Sports Club, Redbrook, Bridgefold Road, Rochdale, OL11 5BX.
