One of the longest running and sponsorships in local sport - believed to be for over 20 years - has been sustained as JW Lees handed over a cheque to Heywood Cricket Club to continue the relationship between the two parties.
National sales director Dean Redfern, accompanied by area sales manager Mark Simmonds, did the honours on behalf of the Middleton-based brewery.
Mr Simmonds said: “Heywood Cricket Club have been very loyal customers of JW Lees Brewery for many years and we are more than happy to continue our sponsorship.
“On the night of the presentation we were very impressed with the junior cricket training going on, with around 100 children taking part in the activities.
“This this is clearly a very forward thinking, commendable long-term strategy for the future
success of the club.”
Club president Bob Cross said: “Our relationship with John Willie Lees is greatly valued by all at Heywood Cricket Club.
“Their financial support is vital to the continued expansion of cricket at Crimble - and our membership like their product, too.”
