Warren Schofield and Maurice Clarke presented with 'Dan' certificates at Rochdale Judo Club

Warren Schofield and Maurice Clarke, two of the longest serving members of Rochdale Judo Club (RJC), were presented with their latest 'Dan' certificates by Simon Smith, the British Judo Association (BJA) North West Area Chairman, on Sunday (7 May).

Mr Schofield, a member of RJC for 54 years, was presented with his seventh Dan certificate.

Mr Clarke, a member of RJC for 61 years, was presented with his fifth Dan certificate.

Richard Barrowclough (eighth Dan), double Olympian and former area chairman, also attended to give his congratulations to Mr Schofield and Mr Clarke.

As part of the club's celebration, a Randori session was conducted by Mr Schofield, followed by a buffet, soft drinks and wine for members, families and friends.
