Chris Hartley produced a spell of bowling which destroyed Norden’s opponents in Saturday’s match at Austerlands.

The pace man took five for 23 as Austerlands crashed to 54 all out. Norden lost three wickets in reaching their target.

Hartley’s first wicket came with 13 on the board when Kevan De Feu was trapped leg before.

Harry Woodhead was bowled, and Hartley had his five when Adrianne Morrison was caught behind by Ashley Gowers.

The innings was in tatters at 25 for five, and two runs later Saliq Rasheed was run out following a throw from Dominic Humphreys, the opener having grafted for 19 runs.

The tail was mopped up by Hashum Malik and Chris Humphreys, Malik taking three for six in just short of three overs.

Josh Tolley faced only two balls in the reply, caught behind by Harry Woodhead, but Dominic Humphreys went on the attack, with Jamie Pilling playing a more cautious innings at the other end.

Humphreys hit three fours and three sixes in a 40-ball 37, and only three more runs were needed when he was caught out by Lee Milner.

Pilling was stumped by Harry Woodhead to make the score a little more respectable from an Austerlands point of view.
