Rugby Union: The Presidents Volunteer Awards for Clair Carson, Becky Gibson, James Bex, Sam Dickinson

Date published: 02 May 2017

Congratulations to four hardy stalwarts of Littleborough RUFC who have been honoured and recognised for their selfless voluntary work by Lancashire CRFU, each winning The Presidents Volunteer Award for 2017.

Clair Carson, Manager of the Ladies section and Becky Gibson Manager of the U15 Boys and Girls have been recognised for their dedication and desire to see junior and girls/ladies rugby grow and develop within the club. Their commitment to ensuring the teams have fixtures, players and more importantly enjoyment is clearly evident whenever anyone is around them and they both deserve this recognition.

James Bex, Second team Captain / Manager, Chair of Players committee, fundraiser and Referee was also honoured alongside Sam Dickinson, Senior Player, Coach of U8’s and U18 Girls, both for their tireless commitment to the club and the game, often spending more time at the club than at home.

They demonstrate that Rugby is a game for all and committed their time and energy into being key parts in the expansion and continued success of Littleborough RUFC.

The awards were held over two nights this week, with James and Becky receiving their awards at Blackburn RUFC on Tuesday 24 April and Sam and Clair being honoured at Leigh RUFC on Thursday 26 April. Both ceremonies were attended by the President of Lancashire CRFU, Tom Fitzgerald.

The excellent awards evenings were attended by those being recognised for their volunteering efforts and their guests with a two-course meal and presentations.

Littleborough RUFC would like to congratulate all the award winners from around the county, but especially applaud and thank our own four honourees.
