Over £1,000 raised on Rochdale AFC charity walk to Oldham

Date published: 28 April 2017

Over a £1,000 was raised by the runners and walkers who completed the six mile route from the Crown Oil Arena to Boundary Park on Saturday (22 April) prior Rochdale's fixture against Oldham Athletic.

Organised in partnership with the Dale Supporters Trust and Dale In The Community Sports Trust, the money was raised for three charities: Bloodwise, Prostate Cancer UK and Ellis Robinson.

A spokesperson said: "The sun was shining for what was a most enjoyable day and first to arrive at the ground were the delighted duo Leighanne Coyle, Dale's media officer, and Frances Fielding, sales and marketing manager, who completed the journey together in one hour 10 minutes, followed closely behind by Sam Wright and Rick Ashcroft.

"Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to everybody who donated. It is hoped the event will become an annual fixture."
