Rochdale Hornets Masters will play their first match on 18 June, against the Masters RL team, The Baht ‘Ats.
The clash will take place ahead of the Rochdale Hornets versus Bradford Bulls Championship clash at the Crown Oil Arena and the Hornets Masters are inviting over 35s to dust off their boots and get back out on the field for the landmark occasion.
Masters Rugby League is a game designed to get everyone involved and fits around ability. The colour of shorts designates the level of contact permitted for individual players dependent on age. It ranges from full contact for players up to the age of 49, ‘grab’ for players between 50-59 and touch for players over the age of 60.
The Hornets Masters team is open to all players including ex professionals, amateur players and relative novices who want to enjoy rugby league.
The most important aspect of Masters Rugby League is enjoyment and participation and ex-Hornets players Ian Sinfield (white shorts), Emon Ratu (black shorts) and Chris Churm (red shorts) will be coordinating the Hornets team.
Practice sessions will be held at Hopwood Hall on Saturday 20 May from 10am. All over 35s welcome.
