Mayfield travelled to Leyland warriors in the North West Men’s League division two, and came away with a valuable victory that took them to the top of the league with three wins from three.

It’s early days for the young side but they have shown that core-skills and effort can get you a long way, and it was no different at Leyland as they matched the bigger and older side in every department, and excelled in attack to score 38 points from some great tries by attacking at pace.

Best for Mayfield was Corey Newsham, who scored a hat-trick of tries.
