Warrant Officer Class 2 Lorraine, who was born in Tranent near Edinburgh, first started playing rugby union when she moved to Fleetwood. She took up the game for around two years and was made ‘woman of the match’ on several occasions.
Now relocated close to Littleborough, 45-year old Lorrie joined the local rugby union club and has been a prominent member for the past year.
She is said to have played and performed ‘exceptionally well’ this season.
Senior member of Littleborough RUFC Club, Steve Park, who helps training the team, said: “Lorraine is very enthusiastic and appears like she has played the game all her life.”
Lorrie’s background has been mainly military, joining her service with the WRAC where she served for 24 years. Since 2013, she has a full-time Reserve Service with the Duke of Lancaster Regiment.
