Danny Bridge returns to Hornets on loan

Date published: 26 January 2017

Danny Bridge has rejoined Rochdale Hornets on an initial one month loan deal from Queensland Cup side, Redcliffe Dolphins.

Fan’s favorite, Bridge, who played for Hornets in their 2015 League One campaign after being signed from Bradford Bulls by Ian Talbot, has returned to the UK to visit family and complete necessary procedures so he can continue to work and live in Australia on a long term basis.

It was important for both Danny and his coaches over at Redcliffe that he maintained his fitness and match sharpness as they head into their campaign in April.

He has been training with the team for the last two weeks and received international clearance on his loan move, which will see him in the squad to face Warrington on Saturday (3pm KO).

Hornets coach Alan Kilshaw said: “I am delighted to welcome a player of Danny’s quality back to the club for the next few weeks. The timing of his availability has been a bonus as well, with Jono Smith’s absence he will add extra competition in the back row position and can also cover as a middle forward.”
