Date published: 31 August 2016

Heybrook FC won the annual Rossendale Youth Championships, which involved teams from all over the country including Rochdale, Oldham, Leeds, and Bradford.

Heybrook won all seven group games, scoring 21 and conceding just one goal.

After dominating the semi-final and winning 3-0, Heywood beat Shawclough FC in the final, despite Shawclough being two nil up within the first five minutes.

Shawclough dominated possession in the first half but Heybrook pulled a goal back on the stroke of half time.

Heybrook equalised early in the second half and the score remained level at the full time whistle.

In the penalty shoot out Abdul Raheem became the hero saving the deciding penalty to win the final for Heybrook.
