Pink Warriors Melbourne tour

Date published: 08 May 2016

Three Littleborough RUFC Pinkie teams played at the Melbourne Minxes annual festival in Derby with over 500 other players in four age groups, 13, 15, 18 and ladies.

The 13s had a blistering first day beating oppositions near and far and demonstrating the future of the club is in safe hands.

The 15s showed their great skill and determination winning more than they lost and showing some fantastic rugby finesse along the way.

The 18s had a great start with a win against a strong Welsh team and great performances against some much older and more experienced seven teams.

The night-time entertainment was mainly the under 18s girls taking the stage by storm with the live band and ensuring all party goers enjoyed their dancing and laughing until the small hours.

The following day the 15s and 18s continued to put in a great performance but the show was stolen with the under 13s being awarded overall winners of the two days and recognised for their team spirit and respect.

After 50 chip butties and a quick change the Warrior camp left en masse to the fancy dress party. With loads of purple minions, cow girls, teletubbies, power rangers and even a nun thrown in it was certainly a colourful party.
