The third round was another close affair with both boxers giving it all for a thrilling finale.

At the final bell the judges opted for Mackie as the winner but with the crowd showing their appreciation to both boxers for a great bout.

Khan’s coach Timothy Pegg said: "We are obviously disappointed not to get the decision tonight after Hamza boxed so well, but we expect our boxer to achieve great things in the future."

Out on the same night was Danyal Mahmood.

Mahmood was fighting at the Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham and was looking to keep his unbeaten record took the unbeaten record of Hosnain Mahmood, from Oldham ABC.

In the first round the Oldham boxer came out fast looking to push the pace but the Queensway boxer's movement was just a little sharper and allowed him to get out of the way countering Hosnains shots.

The second was a little bit scrappy with both boxers attacking and staying pretty much toe-to-toe.

In the third it was clear the Queensway boxer was ahead and frustrating his opponent with his movement and counter punches.

At the bell all three judges gave it to Danyal Mahmood - a unanimous decision.

Coach David Hodkinson said after the bout: “Again it was another tight and well boxed contest for Danyal. He uses his feet well to set up attacks and counters. Very pleased with him again.”
