‘Gold’ standard at college restaurant
Date published: 14 December 2015
Hopwood Hall College restaurant has secured three accreditations.
The AA College Rosette Scheme was launched two years ago to assess college training restaurants in a similar way to which the AA assesses other restaurants.
After the inspectors visited, the Riverside Restaurant secured the top award – the Highly Commended rosette.
College restaurants only secure this award if inspectors deem that they have an excellent grasp of commercial sense and can compete well within a true restaurant environment. According to inspectors, Hopwood Hall College’s Riverside Restaurant has a clear brand and excellent links to industry, which is exploited to benefit the students. They say that service levels are highly polished, with clear support from lecturers and notable peer to peer training.
In addition to being awarded the Highly Commended rosette, the College’s Riverside Restaurant has also been awarded the Gold standard and been named as a Centre of Excellence.
Sue Hadfield, Head of Catering & Hospitality, said: “It’s a fantastic result and well deserved.”
