Councillor Brett’s Advice Bureau
Date published: 12 December 2015

Councillor Brett’s normal Saturday Advice Bureau, which he held with Duncan Hannant, who is expected to be the Labour Party candidate in the local elections in May 2016, was very busy.
Councillor Brett, Labour councillor for Milnrow and Newhey, said: "It gave Duncan an insight in what to expect.
"As well as all the parking problems associated with Metrolink, grit bins and drainage problems, someone had come all the way from Norden to lobby on a planning issue.
"Duncan was surprised at the breadth of complaints but understood why the advice bureau was useful - as well as relying on emails and phone calls - as three of the people brought paperwork and photos.
"Butterworth Hall was besieged because of the ongoing gas works which was threatening to disrupt the Christmas Party. Another issue I have been lobbying on."
