Chinese teachers visit Heybrook Primary School

Date published: 01 December 2015

A delegation of 22 Chinese teachers visited Heybrook Primary School to look at the educational provision of the school.

The visit, organised by Manchester University, was the second of its kind, and was again, a huge success.

The visit to Heybrook focused on the pupil’s enjoyment of learning and the school's use of Kagan structures and cooperative learning.

The teachers very much enjoyed seeing a range of lessons in different subjects, such as art lessons, outdoor learning for Early Years children, and a dance session with a specialist dance coach.

They were particularly impressed by an interactive science lesson which saw pupils using equipment to measure forces.

The teachers also observed Heybrook's effective use of cooperative learning to promote active participation in learning and to build speaking, and social skills.

Throughout the afternoon, visitors showed a great interest and enthusiasm in the teaching and provision they observed at Heybrook.
