8 Year old thrown across carriageway in RTA

An eight-year-old boy is recovering in hospital following a road traffic accident in Middleton. At approximately 4.00pm on Saturday 13 November 2004, police were called to a collision at the junction of Hilton Fold Lane and Hulbert Street.
A BMW 318 was travelling southbound along Hilton Fold Lane when it collided with a child pedestrian who was thrown across the carriageway into the path of an oncoming Fiat Punto.
The victim received serious injuries and was taken to Booth Hall Children's Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The 21-year-old male driver of the Fiat and the 25-year-old female driver of the BMW, both from Middleton, did not require medical treatment.
