Cut and bruised hand - woman injured after falling on damaged pavement
A woman hurt her ankle and has cut and bruised her hands after she fell on a damaged pavement on Byron Road, Middleton.
The resident, who does not want to be named, was walking along the street on Sunday (1 November) morning when she suddenly cruckled over on her ankle and fell on her hands, resulting in cuts and bruises.
She said: “If there weren’t so many leaves on the ground then I would have been able to see the damage. People need to be careful.”
It is understood that following a complaint from the resident, officers from Rochdale Council have been to inspect the area.
Mark Widdup, Director of Neighbourhoods at Rochdale Council, said: “Byron Road is inspected on an annual basis for wear and tear and other damage. Following reports of a damaged pavement from a resident, we visited the site and arranged for a number of these issues to be repaired.”
Damage to footpaths, pavements and kerbs can be reported via an online form on the council website.
