Urgent appeal to find mother missing with newborn son

Date published: 03 November 2015

Salma Reysait, aged 22, from Rochdale, walked out of the Royal Oldham Hospital at 8pm yesterday evening with her 48-hour-old newborn baby before being discharged.

Det Insp Lee Hopwood, from Greater Manchester Police, said officers were becoming increasingly concerned for the safety of both mother and baby as they have not been heard from since.

"Clearly we are keen to find Salma and her baby boy so we can ensure they are both safe.

"We believe that Salma has connections to both the Rochdale and Oldham areas and we are appealing for anyone that may have seen her or her baby, to please get in touch."

Salma is Asian, around 5ft 4ins tall and has black, shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing a pink sari under a black jacket or cardigan.

Anyone with information can call officers on 0161 856 8528.
