Youngsters taking part in a junior football tournament at Hopwood Hall College last Saturday got to meet Rochdale FC stars.
The children, who attend football sessions every week, were put into five teams for an in-house tournament. They had lots of fun, playing plenty of games and scoring many goals, but the real treat in store for them at the end was that they got to meet two Rochdale FC first team players, Billy Hasler-Cregg and Nyal Bell.
The football stars handed out medals to each child that participated. Then, to the delight of the youngsters, they stayed afterwards to have a kick a round with the players.
Tom Conroy, the College’s Football Development Officer said: “A big thank you to Nyal and Billy for coming down to watch the children play and hand out medals. It was a good opportunity for the young players to see the progression they can make."
