Siddal Moor students and staff celebrate GCSE performances
Date published: 20 August 2015
Siddal Moor students and staff are celebrating following the release of the GCSE grades as more students than ever before achieved A* and A grades.
Ray Baker, Headteacher, said: “The hard work of the committed staff and the increased sense of urgency amongst our year 11 students has ensured that there is plenty to celebrate and be proud of within these results. Students have worked hard to secure their places at college, whilst we have been keen to emphasise that this is now the beginning of their next stage of learning”
Whilst final figures are indicating a drop from the 2014 headline figures, the results cannot mask significant improvements in traditional subjects such as English, French and Geography.
Mr Baker added:, “Despite the successful Ofsted visit this year recognising the improvements the school has made, we always want to improve and strive to get better.
"Students deserve the best possible opportunities in life and that includes their GCSE results.
"This week is all about celebrating the student’s successes and sharing their excitement, before the hard work starts again for everyone in September.”
