'A' star student Lauren Lomax heads to Sixth Form

Whitworth Community High School Deputy Head Girl Lauren Lomax is looking forward to a career involving English after her excellent GCSE results.

She gained three A*s in English Literature, English Language and Religious Studies, As in Food Technology and History and five Bs.

Lauren, 16, from Shawclough, said: “I am going to do A levels in English Language, English Literature, Biology and Psychology at Rochdale Sixth Form.

“I want to go on to university and am interested in a career in English but I am not sure what I want to do.

“I didn’t expect to do as well as I did and I got a lot of help from the English department and would like to say a big thanks.

“School has been so good and I will miss it. I have made a lot of good friends.”
