Date published: 25 July 2015

Charity events at Whitworth Community High School have raised nearly £1,900 for good causes this year.

The school’s charity group organised a host of activities from a mass ice bucket challenge for staff to baking cakes, a think pink day to staff v student competitions.

Charities to benefit include the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Breast Cancer Care, Red Nose Day and Macmillan.

Headteacher Gill Middlemas said: “Our students and staff are very generous and are always willing to arrange events to support good causes.

“Not only will the money make a difference to the charities, students and staff all had fun while they were raising it.”
